Gilbert and Sullivan Go to Court
|
|
A cockeyed musical look at the legal system by the masters of the genre. The first act will be the classical short operetta "Trial by Jury", the second satirizes
the criminal justice system with the aid of an original script by Don Bendorf and plenty of sardonic music and lyrics from "The Mikado", "Pirates of
Penzance" and others, all as applicable today as they were when written over a century ago. You might see somebody you recognize in this one! Words and music by
William S. Gilbert and Sir Arthur Sullivan, directed by Don Bendorf (with able assistance from his wife, Claudia). Auditions: 7 PM January 23, 24 and 25. Play dates: April
28 - May 14, 2000.
